Clarence Allison
-- At the age of 16 this man was a member in the 1930s of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) which built hundreds of miles of roads and hiking trails, bridges, administrative buildings and fire towers, campgrounds, and the Rockefeller Monument at Newfound Gap. Clarence Allison was a cook in the CCC. Mr. Allison and other CCC members who helped to build the National Park attended the rededication ceremony on September 2, 2009.
