Cades Cove Hayrides in Great Smoky Mountains National Park ...


Hayrides in the Great Smoky Mountains are offered in Cades Cove from mid-March through October 31st.

Cades Cove Riding Stables offers a 1.5 – 2 hour hayride around the Cades Cove Loop Road. Passengers sit on a bed of hay in a trailer pulled by a truck and enjoy an open air view of the scenery of Cades Cove. Space on the wagons is limited. Advance reservations are required and can be made by telephoning the Cades Cove Riding Stables at 865-448-9009. The cost is $10.00 per person two years old and older.

Join a Park Ranger for an evening haywagon ride through Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountains National Park or just a regular hayride without narration.

Guided hayrides leave from the Cades Cove Riding Stables nightly and last approximately two hours. Hayrides are conducted regardless of weather conditions unless deemed unsafe.

Bring the family, comfortable clothing for the weather, and a flashlight for the parking and restroom area.

Note: The ranger-led Fall Harvest Hayride with people dressed in period costumes is no longer offered.

Carriage Rides in Cades Cove
Carriage rides provide an opportunity to experience a 20-30 minute horse-drawn carriage or wagon ride on a park trail. Take a trip back in time where you can slow down, enjoy, and experience a 30 to 45 minutes picturesque horse-pulled carriage ride through mountainous forest of Cades Cove. Our knowledgeable carriage guides will entertain you with tales of the history of the area while showing and describing the native plant and animal life. Meet our beautiful carriage horses and learn how things were done in days gone by. Come discover the old Cades Cove; you might just discover yourself in the meantime. Carriages rides depart continually throughout the day have no weight or age limit. However, we do limit the carriage to 6 passengers and that depends on the passenger's size. Due to the popularity of the Guided Carriage rides, reservations will not be accepted. All rides are subject to weather and trail conditions.
